Treats and Controls

  • Target species - Cattle and Sheep
  • Late immature and mature liver fluke, Fasciola hepatica, in cattle and sheep
  • Breaks the fluke lifecycle and can minimise pasture contamination for up to ten weeks[1]
  • Licensed and effective for use against Haemonchus contortus in cattle and sheep
  • Effective against triclabendazole resistant strains of liver fluke[2], [3]

  • Subcutaneous injection
  • Cattle – 60 days
  • Sheep – 60 days
  • Not authorised for use in cattle and sheep producing milk for human consumption including the dry period
  • Do not use during the last trimester of pregnancy in heifers which are intended to produce milk for human consumption
  • Do not use within 1 year prior to the first lambing in ewes intended to produce milk for human consumption

Frequently Asked Questions

Nitroxynil, the active ingredient of TRODAX has been shown to have efficacy against triclabendazole-resistant liver fluke1. Nitroxynil is active against the late immature and adult stages of liver fluke. It does not treat the stage of fluke responsible for acute fluke disease, but provides an effective treatment option against the later stages for both cattle and sheep.
